ROAR is our unique Emotional Health programme, designed and delivered through the Creative Arts.  It begins by exploring the importance of ALL feelings, that feelings can give us a message, help to keep us safe and let us know when we need to make a change.

How?  You just need to ROAR : to Recognise how we feel, find the Origin (what has created this feeling), choose an Act in response (Me Change, Mindset or Hand it Over) and finally to Release.

Through our interactive, highly creative style of work, we teach about comfortable and uncomfortable feelings, how to spot those uncomfortable ones early before they get too big.  Learning about our brains, including our Emergency Response Crew and how to let them know when it's not an Emergency and how our brains and behaviour develops.  We then explore how we can change our mindset and behaviour and use drama to look at the outcomes of our choices.  We practise releasing uncomfortable feelings as well as identifying people, places and activities that bring the comfortable feelings (not just at the time, but how they make you feel afterwards).

Through this we empower young people to know they can make a difference in their own lives developing emotional health, growth mindset, resilience, autonomy and a sense of agency.

'Little Creatives has been hugely helpful for my class.  I use lots of the language and techniques throughout the week.  My class' behaviour for learning has improved significantly'

'Brings emotional awareness to light.  I'm often blown away by their emotional maturity.  She has made emotional intelligence a fun experience'

Your ROAR day starts with an assembly performance for your whole school where  two humorous characters explore the importance of all feelings.  Through the performance the audience learn that uncomfortable feelings are important and so is how we respond to them.  Learning how to use the four steps: to Recognise how they feel, how to find the Origin (what has created this feeling), how to choose an Act in response (Me Change, Mindset or Hand it Over) and finally to Release.  Learning the difference between a Me Change, Mindset and Hand it Over, they will be ready and prepped to put their learning into Action in their Creative Workshops.

The workshops put the learning into action as your classes explore the learning further and practice how to ROAR themselves and support others to ROAR too!

Activity packs are included and will be emailed to your school for teachers to use with their classes to embed ROAR further through creative activities.

ROAR in School

Become a ROAR school with our weekly interactive sessions.

Learning through play and through action are proven as two of the most effective learning techniques and plus - they are really FUN! Learning through drama also brings all the benefits of developing self-confidence, oracy skills and team work - and our ROAR sessions are full to the brim with it!

Each week we will explore part of the ROAR programme in greater depth.

The weekly check-ins increase emotional awareness, the interactive learning techniques bring brain development and how we change our choices to life.  Classes  act out and practise different responses to situations, as working with drama gives us the ability to fast forward to find the potential the long term consequences of these.

We use visualisation, imagination, mindfulness exercises, dance, drama, play, art to explore and deepen the understanding and embed the ROAR learning.
